I have an old Apple ][ C sitting around with the insides more or less corroded :waah: It won't even power on. Now, since the case itself is rather large (relatively speaking), I was considering taking out the insides and replacing them with some newer components (ie: brand new). I would make it so that the original power and reset buttons still work, as well as their respective LED's and hopefully make the disk drive eject by using the original lever/button. Hopefully.

However, the question remains: To :dremel: , or not to :dremel:

Ideas, contributions and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This has been done a lot before, and if you get it to look nice, it can be really cool. Good luck :thumb:

Some yealous people may say this about modding; What´s the use for it? And there goes money... blaa blaa blaa..
I have found modding very good, and maybe even instructive for your brains, when you plan this, and so long... You may guess from this, that I will say 2 words; DO IT :thumb:

i think the answer is obvious, do it! maybe not if the innards still worked because then you might be able to sell it as an antique or something, but what is it really doing for you now? maybe a good end table or stool or footrest...

Do it! Do it. It's been done before but that's not the issue. You'll have a ball (and bash your head when you get frustrated). It's all new to you. Go have some fun.

Hm.. that reminds me.. I have an old mac case.. that would be pretty slick to put a fully functional pc inside an ancient box.

    Commodore 64 anyone?
