Well I rolled over into the Billionaire club.
Soon to be overtaking coolamasta which is crazy as back in the day he was one of the folders I looked up to.
It's a bit sad going past all the old school guys, Saspro, Christopher_N._Lewis, phoenicis.

    Oooh, nice
I've passed a few old school guys in my time ... but then I have been Folding since 2005, so maybe I'm an old school guy myself :hehe:

I noticed my weekly production has increased by 15m without doing anything at this end. Are these more generous projects?

Not much to report, just been using electricity. I see Doc is rapidly approaching 40billion. Wow!

Was thinking of replacing one of the older 1070's with a 3070 or even a 4070 as the prices seem to have dropped. Any thoughts as to best bang for buck?

I think the points have gone up on current projects, as my PPD has also gone up with no change in hardware.

Certainly, if you can, a 4070 will give you a good improvement over a 3070 (with not much change in power usage); my 3070 is currently doing 6.5m PPD, while my 4070Ti's are doing 14m.

Expecting to hit 40Bn mid-Oct

Thanks for the advice. I note the plural 4070Ti's!! I'll search around for price.

That explains the PPD - very nice. Do you have them in a rack? What brand of GPU did you go for? Having looked at the 4070Ti I wonder if it requires a major upgrade to a Z790 m/b from a Z490 Comet Lake m/b to get the best out of it. That would be a major bank raid job or win on the lottery!

They are in individual PCs (Asus TUF cards) ... spread around the house to make use of the heat :dremel:
The Z490 would work absolutely fine with the 4xxx series GPU - no need to do any other upgrades.
(The 4xxx cards are big, so just check your case has the space to accommodate the card).

Thanks again for the info. They are big cards, 3 slots by the look of things. Will have to give it some thought. I'll let you know.

3 Days away from our next team overtake and then theres another 2 we can quickly scoot past.

My PPD has fallen off last few days rubbish WU's and then found it stuck on a cleanup this morning which needed a manual delete of the WU folders and a reboot.

What guides did you use to set up an NVidia card folding? I feel a 3060 and 2060 aren't pulling their weight.

You can get a 'feel' for what sort of output different GPUs (and CPUs) give here; Folding.Lar.Systems

Not sure what sort of guide you are looking for, but the official one is here; Install v7 FAH
If you have specific questions, we'll try to answer them here.

Thanks for the link, I think that's the one I looked at when setting up. I'll have to have a look at the ppd and check.

I’m just about ready to join the billionaires club in under 12hr and a nice way to finish of the 2023 .
New folding GPU for 2024 as the mile stones get longer and I now have Solar to help with electricity costs.
