I updated the BIOS on my board and ever since higher overclocking attempts (4.3GHz and above) have proved fruitless with anything upto 1.6vcore. However before, I could use 1.55 and get 4.4GHz pretty stable. Is it possible to flash an older BIOS back to the board or should I just shout at it to make myself feel better? Cheers
In essence you can't unflash a BIOS, only overwrite it. So go ahead and overwrite the new BIOS with the old BIOS! Just make sure to lower all settings to non-overclock before you flash!
Some boards don't allow you to flash back to older BIOS versions, but there is an easy way to get around it - just rename the BIOS .rom file to the same as a newer version.
Should work fine. I had some issues flashing to an older BIOS but that was probably just Asus. There are plenty of alternative methods around if the standard route doesn't work for you.
