can anyone tell if i really can use the "undocumented jp17 trick" to overclock with multiplier locked athlon xp 1800+ and soltek sl-75kav?

undocumented yeah right... reads on manual page 26 that jp17 makes mobo read the multiplier from dip switches instead of fid supplied by cpu. :D

would be kinda nice if this really works since i get disk error after upping fsb by 6mhz... :(

I'm not really sure what your talking about, but wouldn't it just be easier to get an unlocking kit, or take a pencil or other conductive instrumment and draw on your CPU?

id rather play around with dip switches than risk cracking the core...
