    well... i was wondering this:

if i want to upgrade my whole system
what socket should i go for?

if i want tot go intel it's socket 775 i guess
but for amd is it socket 939 or am2 ?

or should i wait for something new that's coming?
i'm really a noob if it comes to this kind of stuff...
so i'd be really happy if anyone could help me out

    tnx

Best at the moment is 775. Socket 939 is being replaced by am2.

Honestly though, your current system (the one in your sig) supports PCI-e so I'd recommend just a video upgrade. Even if it was AGP I'd still look at that first. What you have now is not a bad system.

Your system seems fine, upgrading parts of it would be easier, but if you were going all new for some reason then an LGA 775 system would be best. Core2Duo or Quad are dominating right now. If you wait you may be able to get better performance from AMDs next architecture, since no one knows how that will perform.
