I have been working on my car pc for a long while now and I think I would like to get rid of the pci 802.11g card. I would like to replace it with a usb 802.11g adaptor that is about the same size as a pen drive. This will save me alot of space and I will be able to make the pc easy to take in and out of the glove box for use in the house or where ever. What I need to know is what ones work with netstumbler .4 in win2k? I asked on there forums but they were just like "none of them are officaly suported" thread closed I would prefer it to be as cheap as posible but it has to work with netstumbler. Also I prefer to grab things from newegg but am not apposed to some place else just link over to it if you have an adaptor that works with netstumbler.
i used net stumbler and all i could figure out what to do with it was FOR IT TO MAKE NOISE. i use winc i found it on download.com i think it its 100x better and it supports almost all adapters try it out
I checked it out looks nice but would be better if it was free. Although that isnt a major hurdle. It would just be nice if netstumbler suported some more usb stuff.
If my memory serves me correctly, the older gen linksys Wusb54gp ones run off a chipset that is compatible with netstumbler (I think they were the prism2, but im not quite sure), but I think you also need a different version of the usb driver. I am going to hunt around as to where I saw that driver, and PM you if I find it. Otherwise, good luck
That adapter I do beleave is reported to work with netstumbler. It is a littly on the pricy side. I thought about buying a $20 adapter from newagg and just hoping it works but I havn't decided for sure yet.
