For the UK people, it would appear that Vadim Computers has ceased trading as of today: http://www.vadim.co.uk/articles/90/V_Solutions_LTD_has_ceased_trading
Agreed, there made awesome gear, but charged far to much for it. tbh anyone that knew of there computers, would also know that a dremel and some time would give the same level of modding far cheaper.
"The whole team, including myself are very proud of this PC and I would just like to quickly divert your attention and describe the concept behind 'Ragnarok'. As you probably know, in Norse mythology, Ragnarok signifies the final battle before the end of the world and rebirth of the universe." Is that really common knowledge?
cant really blame the prices, they got fuc*** by a shady investment company according to the explanation on the website.
It's alot harder to get people to buy a more expensive product, when it's else where for less. Admittedly, they had some nice mods and some good cable management, but that's not enough to justify the price inflation to any 'normal' user.
Heh, they had silly high prices, so I'm not shocked by this at all. What have we learnt from this? Don't rip off your customers.
Self-serving attribution bias. It is always someone else's fault. Basically, Vadim has the same problem as Voodoo PC or any other custom PC company. The sort of customer happy to pay £2000,-- for a bad-ass customised rig tends to be the sort of geek who wants to, and is able to build his own. For significantly less money. There is simply too small a market for their products. It would have been better if they specialised in selling custom components or items that nobody else makes or sells, such as PCI card holding brackets and other custom-made bling parts. Think MNPC-Tech. They're doing just fine.
Aaaw, thats a shame, always liked there mods. Ah well, easy come easy go, they were never gonna have it easy in that market thoguh were they.... as nexxo said
Yeah, but MNPC fill that niche so damn well, anyone going against them isn't likely to last long, unless they carve their stock out of God, or something.
To be fair, they've handled it all responsibly... PCs in for repair returned to owners, outstanding orders fulfilled etc... Better than most companies which wait for weeks/months before admitting that they are going tits-up.
