    Hi All,

I've been struggling with with my storage in my desk build for over 2 months now, my connectors seem to be failing on me. I'm currently using some cheaper extension cables than I found online.

But I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to buy very long SATA cables? somewhere between 3-4 meters?

Hope anyone can help me out :)

I thought Sata cables were limited to about a metre, but happy to be corrected if that's not the case.

As far as I know you're right on the money bawjaws. SATA is limited by spec to 1m. eSATA can do 2m. But neither can do anywhere near 3-4m. I imagine daisychaining extensions will work but who knows what will happen to the signal (and the data) when going such extreme lengths.

I used SATA joiners in one of my rigs but yeah, still nowhere near the 1m mark. Not had any problems at all though.
