I do now know wut i want! water cooling is way better but risky, thats why i didnt get it, since im new to this PC stuff. maybe in like 1-3 years i will purchase a water cooled rig

Unless CPU manufacturers can increase chip efficiency and reduce the ever growing heat output of CPU's in the future, then watercooling is pretty much going to be a matter of need, rather then desire.
I meant as a replacement for aircooling which is the mainstream cooling for the majority of computers in the world.
Im not so sure, air coolers are getting better and better and I think they'll be around a while longer yet. CPU heat output may also decrease as manufacturing processes get better. But, water cooling is already becoming more mainstream, as we've seen with the NEC computer in Bindi's presentation. As it becomes cheaper (which it will) more peole will turn to it but the fact still remains that the n00bies in the high street stores as soon as they hear compter + water they back away so its gonna take a pretty good marketing team to get it mainstream, successfully anyways.
I was tired of the noise in my computer, so I wanted to put one in, but I only have one rig, so I would have to take it to lan parties, I didn't feel like having to drain it and re-fill every time I have to move it, then after I moved it I would be wondering if any tubes cam loose and will come off when the pump comes on. For a stay in the same spot, rig it is fine, for a semi-mobile rig, I just didn't feel comfortable.
i wat to go watercooler, prob with a £200-£250 budjet, i see it as if im going WC then i may as well do it right first time, save money in the long run. but my mobo has no mounting holes, i know i can get a hold-down for the maze4 im looking at but im not sure if i should upgrade my mobo and ram first.....ah dilemas (if any1 is interested i have generic PC2700 and GA-7VR mobo xp2400+ @xp3400) Murdoc
With that sort of budget you should be looking at the Aqua Computer stuff. Its expensive but it looks like the best kit.
some manufacturer should make a 100% safe water cooling kit, and it's impossible to leak unless done intentionally. that'll boost their sales and hapiness. wut I Dream of is an acylric full tower case (those things are sexy) or a mid tower aclyric UV reactive with some water cooling
How can you be exactly sure a watercooling part is never going to leak? You can be 99.999% sure that a fault wont occur but its impossible to guarantee something like that as the designers cant think of all the circumstances that could take place.
if they make everything sealed (tubes selaed to block etc) then they could say if it leaks we replace it and wots its damaged.
but what happens when you have a non standard motherboard with the CPU socket in a diff place? you either don't have room to accomodate the excess tubing, or you don't have enough tubing to reach edit: plug and cool is fairly fool proof if you are careful.
I'm willing to take the risk for the bonus of a near silent system (darn these hard drives). It's all down to being confident that you have installed it all correctly.
It means using"Push-fit" fiitings. THese are fitting normally used for pneumatic systems and make a completely sealed connection when the tube is pushed fully into the fitting. They are commonly used in most european watercooling setups and imo are a damm good idea. For someone new to watercooling it does pretty much eliminate the risk of a leak from the hose-fitting provided they cut the hose straight and push the tube in all the way. There are some nice animations and diagrams of how they work on the Legris site but its down at the moment.
