Two desktop pcs on vista 64 joined to a linksys wired hub.

They have different names, are in the same workgroup and are visible to each other.

I have worked through all the guides I can see but they cant open any folder other than the public ones. I share say " d drive" and its listed but when anyone tries to open it an erorr message is shown saying that they have no permission.

I think the problem is that when I lists the folder to share it doesnt bring up the network clients in the list of who to share with. So I just click everyone.

I can work around by copying to public and then moving but it is ANNOYING AND SLOW!

    HELP?

    Dean.

Changing a folder to shared doesn't mean it's permissions have changed; make sure its not an admin user only folder.

I used to get this problem, fixed it by going into Security, clicking permissions, and adding permissions for "Everyone" and then made em read/write etc
