This is what I was thinking, but I might be off...so, hows it look?
U gotta put the res directly infront of the pump
Edit; also the pump inlet/outlet is the other way round. Outlet is on the top
Why should I put the res infront of the pump?
Yeah, was easier to draw that way...
yea thats fine, is how i ran mine
can also swap the pump/rad
either of those configurations will work well
Putting the res in front of the pump makes sure the pump is never starved of water
/.........and the rad before the CPU means you got coldest water going direct onto CPU
Doesn't make a great deal of difference but you may as well get it right first time
Well, in a topped-off closed system, I don't really understand how a pump could get starved.
From what I have read, the heat a pump dumps into the system only equates to a .19*F increase in overall temp, on average...
Well centrafugal pumps are relly relly bad at sucking so they need a direct supply of water to the inlet. (ie you need to put the res as close to the inlet as possible)
If you put a rad or waterblock (or even small tubing) between your res and pump this will restrict the inlet and your temps will be bad. Sure it will work the way you have it but your wasting alot of performance.
tbh I have mine set up like that and it's fine. There's plenty of water in the system so the pump will never be starved of water.
For what you may gain in performance you will lose with tubing all over the place, going back and forth.
When I next refill my system I may try it with pump, rad, block, res and see if it makes a substantial difference.
i would have it so the pump is pushing water into the rad and from the rad directly to the cpu. you usually want the coldest water possible to the waterblock. it doesnt help significantly, but it still helps if your pump pumps out a lot of wattage.l
Im runing my setup kind of diferently.
goes as follows
I am using only one pump (hydor L30)
maybe you want to run it this way?
Separate names with a comma.
