Cooling WC Temp Problems after DD Maze3 > DD RBX AMD

I've just swaped out my DD Maze 3 for a RBX Brass Top and my temps have gone way up to almost same as my an AMD stock sink/fan

now: AMD 2800+ stock (40-42 idle and max 55)
1/2 ID tubing from my res to pump and then to the CPU block
3/8" ID Tygon from both outputs to my rad then to my res
(removed my NB to try and get this issue solved)

had: AMD 2800+ OCd (39 idle and max 49)
1/2 ID tubing from my res to pump > CPU block > NB
3/8" ID from NB > rad > res

I don't use the fans on my rad unless it needs a boost, my Res is a 1m Ext. WACC mounted outside my window.

have I screwed up the flow?

 

lack of pump pressure perhaps? what pump are u using?

Should be OK... I'd check that the block is seated OK, sufficient (but not too much) thermal compound, etc. But most importantly, are the two outlet tubes coming from the block of equal length before they merge at the Y-piece (or join at the res)?

Also, the RBX comes with a set of nozzles. Which one have you got installed? Have you got one installed?

 

Perhaps a scurb of the pipework and clean out the rad etc. Have you moved anything in the case to potentially block airflow?

 

There have always been issues with the mounting of the RBX block due to the shape and pressure/weight of the extra hose and i found it best to use a Tweakmonster Shim and tighten down quite hard which helped so it could be something as simple as the way the block is seated.

The RBX is designed for high flow so maybe the pump isn't up to the job!

 

I went home and spotted that I'd done something REALLY stupid!!

I managed to break my Y trying to get some 3/8" tygon off and thot... maybe that T will do the job if I put some 1/2" from it and the 2x 3/8" in.... there is an ok flow but the flow there should be.... show stupid do I feel

thanks, I'll investigate the Tweakmonster Shim I don't really like the weight and seating of this block.

From what I read the pump should be ok? but its something I will look at

ordered a nice new brass Y from coolercases.
