Dreamweaver with Fireworks is my old favourite, although I've been trying the Microsoft Expression web series recently which seem pretty decent products. <A88>
I can use dreamweaver And find it easy to use but it always looks pretty crappy so I might try learning HTTP. ? err what forum have I surposed to have spammed.
Then you don't know how to use it properly. Dreamweaver can be as powerful as you want. If you use both coding and design view you can see the underlying html. Making a site look good these days is more about CSS (style sheets). Learning webdesign is a progression, you start with basic sites and slowly learn more until you can make prettier sites Also so don't want to learn HTTP (it's a protocal to tranfer webpages) you want to learn about HTML.
Your getting the wrong idea about dreamweaver... You don't develop dreamweaver skills, you develop HTML and CSS skills to use in dreamweaver. While I may use dreamweaver, I only use it for useful things like auto-completing tags and the preview window which is generally quicker than previewing it in browsers. Its also got an ftp built into it for very quick uploading of individual files. then there is the tabbed open documents. instead of having to go to window and choose each time. Don't go using any of its wizards or drag and drop stuff though.. that stuff sucks ass.
Frontpage has a huge problem, it uploads usernames and passwords to a hidden file on your database. You can easily search using google and get lists of FTP passwords. It's only a short search term aswell
I'd rather crawl across a desert of broken glass....that's on fire. Notepad or Nvu is all you'll ever need.
Iv found with abit of help from a friend a website that treaches me all I need to Know about setting up a website.
Maybe they're just honest. It is a $400 program after all, no amateur is likely to have a legal copy. Plenty of free programs for home users without stooping to Notepad.
What a well thought through reply... Hey everybody! This nit-wit would rather cause himself personal injury than use...... a computer program. How leet of him Wish i was that cool -------- Silly fanboyism aside. Yes, there are programs that do the same job, but like the guy said. He has Dreamweaver, and its a hell of a lot easier to learn in Dreamweaver than in notepad. I do agree though. If he didn't have dreamweaver and/or couldn't/wouldn't download it then there are open source alternatives... Whether I would rather crawl on burning desert glass than use them I'm not sure....
dont worry Im taking a course on HTML I did my first one yesterday and It came out fine as for now I have a test.
yup, I can take funny jokes..... ...Oh snap! (£400... Or £80 if your a student - that includes school, college and uni. Basically any full time education. If your no longer in that category, I'm sure you know someone who is )
