I've just set up a basic PHP script on one of my sub-domains for easy uploading of images etc. and remote linking is supported. Perfect for forums. :)

edit: It's only version 1.0 (see below)

Again - DONT ABUSE IT :p

    clicky here

edit: I've realised I will need to work out how to add some basic error checking, for example, no overwriting of existing files. I'm new to PHP scripting... so it's all a learning process right now. Once I work it all out, I'll move up to v2.0 :)

Glad you like it Lovah, I had noticed your desktop appearing on my webspace before you'd even posted in the other thread lol.

I have now written a few error and reality checks, bringing it up to v2.1, which hopefully work correctly; as I said before I'm very new to PHP and making it all up as I go along (well nicking bits here and there from other scripts actually but who's counting).

I have (supposedly) restricted it to the GIF, JPG and PNG formats, this should be working correctly. If anyone wants to try uploading something else to see what happens, please do. Just be sure to let me know if something untoward happens.

Also, it should not allow you to overwrite an existing image, and will require you to rename the file before attempting again.

    Good luck :)

I can have a browse over your code if you want, and fix things etc and send it back - email it to me if you wish inder@inder2.co.uk

i set up a similar script before, but with user auth. and it emails me when someone attempts to upload an avatar.. heh

I was thinking about user authentication, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. I might add it later depending on how much abuse I get.

I can't really take all the credit for the scripts as I have mainly rewritten bits from a few others. I'll give you the link to the site where I have been getting my examples though: PHP Resource
