CPU What can we expect from this?

    I just saw this pop up on the fb link for scan.

    Intel I7 2700K

    I would of thought that would of made it to the bit-tech news section at least?

    Anyways, what do we know about it apart from the price?

    i think i read a few places it's the replacement for the 2600k (refresh if you will) or replacing the 2600k at that price point, dropping the sb chips down a notch in price

    looking at the specs for it, is it using different cache? instead of smart its, the normal L1, L2 and L3

    Thats what I was thinking, same as the old i7 920 became the 930, 940 became the 950 and so on.

    maybe, but it was pretty good to start with, so like you say a few tweeks and probably even better overclcoking thrown in as well.
