Fair play... I think I'm figuring out that I like the idea of cars more than actual cars.

I had a "proper driver's car" for 5 years and put 6k miles on it in total, I traded it in for something a little more boring/practical but still sporty thinking I would drive it more being less of a "drivers car" and I do somewhat, but still barely touch it :/

Me I'm conflicted, I like my drivers cars but also enjoy wafting along in our soft roader, particularly in Bristol traffic where drivers cars are no fun, I need to find a car that's a transformer :D before driving a Volvo sucks all the fun from me and I start wearing cardigans spend the rest of my life wafting around in silent autos listening to classic FM, I can feel the luxury consuming me. :D

I quite enjoy the Jekyll and Hyde aspect of the plug-in hybrid, wafting about on electricity but with a piston engine that can be called up at a moment's notice. Generally I try to avoid doing that but once I have I might as well get my money's worth?

Yup my soft roader is a 455bhp PHEV, I spend most of my time wafting about on the 143bhp rear motor going slowly listening to tunes which is awesome on its sound system. It's pretty fast but there is zero to really enjoy about it from a drivers car perspective, I mean its a competent handling thing but you feel nothing. 0-62 - 4.6s, hitting 100mph in about 10s, so no slouch but oh so dull. nice and comfy though which is what it is supposed to be as the family car, and as said tunes on that Bowers and Wilkins are superb, as is its economy for a 2.1 tonne tank, no range anxiety here, 156mpg over the last 2k :) let's not mention the electric usage ;) :D

Finally got around to chopping the LED channel strips to size and mounting them to my shelves properly. Looks a hell of a lot better than the single one I half-arsedly stuck up with 3M VHB tape. I need to do some work to try and hide the interconnects a bit better (I've already mouned the controller somewhere out of the way) but I've been doing this all day now and I'm bored of it.

Tomorrow I plan to pull everything (and I mean everything) off and out of my desk. I need to move it forward so I can screw the power strip to the back of the privacy panel like I've been planning to do for literally years. I am not looking forward to it; it'll be satisfying when it's done, but it's going to be hell while doing it.

    I did something nice.

I ordered some actually good smart bulbs last week. Had them sent to mum's, as I knew I was coming. Hers are the same as my old ones too, crap. So I gave her my new ones. Will get some more tomorrow :D

    Speaking of which, my hangover

Didn't have too much compared to how I used to be but I don't drink anymore.

Special occasion, travelled down to catch up with mates over from Aus. Not seen them in 9 years but it's one of those where it could have been last week.

Good times, small hangover worth it.

Love this, reminds me of Mr Jeeves who lived with me in the early 2000s. He certainly was somewhat of a space cadet, I miss that mad little dude.

Congrats, dude. Onwards and upwards!

@MLyons +1 to Tribe... Don't forget to act superior to the new guy whenever opportunity presents, or he'll be stealing your spot on the yard. At least get him on the coffee and lunch runs.

Oh - and do have a peek in your inbox for an update...good stuff :thumb:

    Oh man thank god.

Going away soon. Went to dig out my vintage Tommy Hilfiger rain coat. I have had it since 1998. I have taken it with me on every holiday, and I always need it lol. Any way, it was missing. I tore my whole flat apart a while ago, nothing. Was assured by Mum it wasn't here. Ended up finding it lol.

Thank the lord. I can now know what you did last summer again.

I thought I was going to have to buy a new record player, 'cos my old Aiwa was running fast. Turns out there are pots you can twiddle to change the speed!

...they're on the underside. So you have to flip the whole thing on its side, and you can't adjust 'em while it's playing to dial it in.

So, little screwdriver, protective cover for the stylus cartridge in case the tone arm goes off on one while I'm doing it, copy of an album I've also got the MP3s for. Start playback on the player and the MP3, switch the speakers between the two inputs. First try, turned it too far: Phil Collins now sounds like James Earl Jones. Okay, flip it over, go back about halfway... that sounds right to me!

Now I've got to do the same for 45 rpm, which has its own dedicated pot. Still, I don't have to shell out £135 on a new record player!

    EDIT:
    Actually, 45 sounds right. Handy!

Finally had another session with the psychiatrists again today, and now that blood pressure is under control they're going to start prescribing Elvanse (or lisdexamfetamine if you want to be pedantic). Been a long damn road getting here, but it ain't over yet - still have to find the dosage (and drug, there's also dexamfetamine) that has the most positive impact. Still, feels good to finally be doing something.

In London for a 2 day break with the family.
Seeing Hamilton the musical tonight, very excited.
Mrs A and my daughter are big on Musical Theatre, daughter is starting a Musical Theatre degree in September at a leading drama school.
Went up Lift 109 at Battersea Power Station earlier, an epic glass elevator ride.
@Gareth Halfacree - I'd pay to hear Phil Collins sounding like JEJ!
