    Things I want:

An A4 size E Ink tablet with enough grunt to read PDFs. (It exists, from a couple of manufacturers including Sony, but they all kinda suck for one reason or another.)

A laptop with mechanical keyboard and large E Ink screen and mahoosive battery life. (It don't exist; closest is a bunch of 3D printed stuff based around a Raspberry Pi and a recycled Kindle display or the godawful Hemingwrite thing - which also uses a recycled Kindle display.

    Somebody make those happen, kthxbye.

No, I've got one of those. Well, two.

    ...possibly three?

Holy crap, that looks like a sh!t Fisher Price toy.

I don't get it - full sized (albeit 60%) mech board, a couple of oversized switches and a six or seven inch E Ink screen? I bet anyone who can type at 30 or more wpm will go crazy over the screen lag - E Ink is nice to read but not exactly responsive.

I can. mostly, relate. I rarely fall asleep in chairs, but I sat in this one and just.. Felt it. The impending sleep-feeling.It's weird how some things can do that to you.

Never fallen asleep in a chair.

    A hammock, now that's a different matter.

A quick test showed that my i5K 4670 from my dear gaming rig is still alive and runs a treat in a spare board. :thumb:

I like that a lot, my car is called lucky, as it has survived 2 insurance claims without being written off! It IS Cat D now though....
All I need now is an affordable, decent spec s1150 ITX motherboard...

    An extra 16 inches.

After four weeks of working off a 15.6" laptop screen (it's hard to believe that 15.6 would have been considering a fairly large screen at one point), having an RMA agreed for a literal bug in my monitor, waiting around due to no stock in Europe, receiving a battered screen with a large scratch on the panel and awaiting stock for yet another replacement, the (fortunately brand new) replacement has arrived today and all is well. Hello sweet, sweet desktop real-estate.

    Awww yeaaaah.
    <looks at 13" laptop>

I have to admit, going from my 23", 24" (I forget) 1200p display to my 13" 1080p laptop makes everything look really really tiny. Glad I didn't get the stupid 4K model!

Missus got a job offer this morning - means I don't have to spend the whole run up to baby due date paying everything by myself, whew! (she has still been freelance dance teaching since her previous contract ended in January, but it was only providing enough to cover her own bills and expenses).

Managed to successfully repair a weird electronics issue in my Ricoh GR without killing it.
I'm relatively confident disassembling mechanical cameras without guide or documentation but those generally aren't A. stuffed with fragile ribbon cables and short soldered wires and B. my favorite camera I carry everywhere all the time.
What a relief when everything worked just fine put back together. Hope I don't have to do that again in the near future.
