make them into necklaces and be all "gangsta"
show off to your friends
Add them on to the flat I'm building exclusively out of old/broken PC parts.
My friend turned his old RAM sticks into keyring accesories if thats any help
I'll have a clear out tomorrow...
test and store it, and then sells it to a customer with old system for the price of 8800GT.
keep bits at home, never no when those old bits and pieces might come in handy. Or for a couple of bits like the CRT's i had find them a new home
Outdated? All my hardware has a use.
I generally horde things through convenience and laziness as I don't drive, at least until I hear someones mom/dad/brother/miscellaneous relative moaning about needing a pc for getting online then manage to cobble a working (and stable) machine together to "donate".
Two or three refusals for payment ensue before a crate of beer is delivered (oh go on then) and the pc picked up. Door to door disposal and a frosty beverage. Everyones a winner!
I usually put dead hardware on my wall as ornaments, but old working hardware is kept safe in bags.
(and yes, I got 4 AMD Socket-A Cpus in a blue cpu tray there, all dead)
I even got a broken laptop in pieces in the bag it came with.
I've had some fun trying to turn old kit into something useable... my vaguely useful stuff has just been put in a cheap-but-bling case from ebuyer, and will shortly wing it's way on to ebay as a working system.
My very very very old laptop is getting a new lease of life via a cheap ram upgrade - 64mb(!) to 256mb for £15, and then a clean install of a Linux distro - probably Xubuntu. It's already had Puppy Linux which was better than the existing Win98 installation.
I've gotten some knowledge (and frustration) from being intro'd to Linux through trying to get wifi to work on it, it's been .. interesting
my old P4 i now a key ring! w00t!
I havent yet thrown anything away and the pile is getting big! Theres a few CRTs somewhere in the loft. I probably find uses for most of the working stuff now im getting into Linux. The rest will probably get modded into something. I find it very hard to throw stuff away!
I usually keep my stuff, I trash things like printers and such. But for the most part the things can come in handy. I am actually running low on spare parts. I am just happy I don't have a SA to moan about the collection.
give it to someone who needs it/could deal with it properly
put it in my parents computer most often. or save it as backup should the inevitable happen.
Separate names with a comma.
