I have been told that the advertising agreement with Scan has come to an end for the time being - it may return in the future, but since it's a commercial matter (and not an editorial one) it's not really anything to do with the writing/forum staff. From what I understand, this also means Scan will no longer be offering free delivery to regular forum contributors.
Does this effect the scan free delivery offer? Because i use that a lot... EDIT: seems it does... Looks like i'll be buying stuff elsewhere now
hmm, maybe if they'd paid a bit more attention to what people were saying on there...... ah well, i just hope this wont effect the sterling bit-tech service?
As above, the commercial and editorial parts of BiT are well separated to try and avoid bias for commercial reasons, so no, it won't make a difference.
It's a shame that Scan didn't support their users here, they seemed to focus on the Hexus one a LOT more!
Shame. Guess scan would rather flick the bird to their enthusiast customers. Only kidding, its a shame though. I think they should at least continue to give us free delivery( over that minimum amount again of course).
Ah well thats a shame, i'll just have to go with who ever is cheapest now. I noticed on several occasions when pricing things up that scan was only cheapest with the free p+p.
Oh balls! I was all set to order the bits for my new build last night, before sitting here for an hour trying to decide between two motherboards. I decided I'd make my mind up some time in the week instead. Now, not only have I missed out on the weekend's special offers but I've missed out on the free delivery too. And this is after seeing the Pound drop. I am really pissed off with myself right now.
That really is a shame, I would have said bit tech was much bigger than Hexus, or atleast for me it is. If not bigger then better. /bumlicking Though it appears my account is set up for free delivery still...Wonder how long that will take to change, I don't plan on buying any computer stuff for a long while yet so it doesn't effect me much really.
Well once I had to phone up to confirm an order and I mentioned free delivery, the guy on the other end had no idea who or what bit-tech was and instead called it the hexus free shipping option. Not that I'm saying call up and say 'hexus' 'free' or 'shipping'
as the site isn't affected i cant say im that bothered. i tend to go ebuyer/overclockers these days anyway as i have found the customer service better (just personal experience)
