Hardware What Hardware Should I Buy? - Jan 2009

I'm planning on buying the 'high end' hardware, though I am probably going to do so in 2 or 3 stages (not wanting to spend all my wage in one go). I was thinking it's best to buy the case, DVD drive, PSU, and OS first as they won't date very much over the next month, the only thing holding me back is the recent price hikes. Is it worth me waiting to next month to see if the prices go back, or is that never going to happen?

Mario, I played it safe and ordered my setup a few days ago. The price's still rising from what I can see.

 

That's my recollection, now Amazon are doing the Upgrade version much cheaper than the OEM. Does the Clean 'Upgrade' Install trick still work with SP1 discs?

Don't I know it. I was patiently waiting for the E8400 to dip below £100 when Bang! the world economy collapsed.
