    Hi everyone,

I've been out of the modding scene for the last couple of years and I am planning a small(ish) project to get back into the swing of things. I have a dual CPU Supermicro X8DTT-F blade server that I use for compiling and "other stuff". It has 2 X's Xeon E5645 and 64gb ECC DDR3 memory. I know that people usually don't do custom cases and water cooling on server boards, but since this is a "test" build, I'm going with hardware that I have on hand. Besides, once I start my build thread and people see the Frankenstein setup that I currently have for my server, I think that everyone will say, "Yeah, you really needed to do something about that!".

Like I said, I'm planning to do a water cooled setup and I would like to try ridged tubing on this build. However, I'm trying for a fairly small and compact design so I would like my tubing to be as small as possible.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thank!

If I remember correctly, 1/2" OD is the smallest hard line fitting.

Smallest hardline tubing you can get is metric 12mm OD. Just make sure you properly match fittings and tubing because metric and imperial won't mix. For example, 1/2" OD Cheapskate mentions above is 12.7mm so that's too big to fit in 12mm fittings and too small to fit in 13mm fittings.
