I might just go! I've never been to a LAN party, what games are they playing there? Glad you chose the Q9400, I love it, and I paid a bit more for it.
He may be a little out of touch me thinks. At resolutions above 1920x1200, the HD4870X2 is the most powerful GPU on the planet thanks to its 1600 stream processors. The GTX295, by contrast, has 480. Below this res. it's as near as makes no difference.
Dunno.. below 1920x1200 the GTX295 seems to outperform it consistently from the review Bit Tech did. I agree with higher res however. If I upgrade to a 30inch monitor, I'll sell the GTX295 and go down the 2x 4870x2 path me thinks.
