Ordered laptop for in-laws directly from Lenovo as their website said typical time to shipping is 3 weeks. Now that order is in, estimate is 3 months. MONTHS.

There seems to be a bit of a postcode lottery with DPD. Here, West somerset, we have never had a problem with DPD. They are always here within the expected time slot and, since the start of the lockdown, they always make sure we get to the door and pick-up the package before they go.

Same in Bristol, they currently often early but the scanner forces them to wait for the time slot to go live before that can give you the package! I always actively choose websites that use DPD because my experiance has been so good with them here

I always rated DPD pretty highly - they were the courier of choice for my weekly parts delivery when I worked for Whirlpool - and I never worried when I saw they were delivering anything I'd ordered online.

Maybe it's a one-off, but it was still a moronic thing to do.

See, everywhere I've been they have been "on time" as it were, but it took moving to Germany to get the "leave it on the doorstep and don't even ring" experience. It's at the point now where, if I know there's a DPD delivery, I'll watch the live tracking so I can go down and get it shortly after they've sodded off.

The quality of delivery services in Germany swings wildly. Amazon does a decent job most of the time, DHL is good (currently), DPD is a joke, GLS the same, UPS is brilliant but expensive. Apart from UPS they'll all happily swap places in that sentence randomly over time.

An increasing frequency of overthinking that spills over onto places like here, that many reading what I post don't seem to have empathy with...
I don't always want answers to what I post, but sometimes it helps to see that others are able to contribute to 'thought exercises' as opposed to something that needs money spending on it with a(ny) degree of urgency.
