Well, someone has sent us a MacBook with a fault. Thats fine usually comes in its box all safe, nope came in a padded envelope with"Do not bend" written on it. Safe to say its ruined after a trip through the Royal Mail postal system. Now to sit down an write it off.

    Same boat here.

Can't decide whether it's a good or bad thing.

Watched the seed of a chilli jump from the chopping board directly into the inner corner of my eye, which took a little while to get out. Quite an impressive trick shot really.

We got told that our entire team is being moved to Belgium about 8 months ago, first 25% got final 3 month notice and termination dates earlier this week

Rest of us will be going in two waves after a major integration project has completed but dates and who is going when, aren't known.

I remember being in a place watching guys get their marching orders, there was a few going every week. It was such a depressing atmosphere. For me it was just a low end technician job, so getting laid of was a good kick to get things progressing for myself. I think its easy to become part of the furniture at a job and a little company hopping every now and then can broaden horizons a bit.

Totally, my employer is (was) a large American company but was great to work for. High pressure, good financial rewards and lots of freedom to facilitate positive change and improve oneself and the processes and practices. Problem is we got brought out and it's been downhill ever since. Everyone who is going is so happy they don't have to stay. And the people left all just want it to be over. It's sad seeing the transition and all the good things we did and implemented being ripped out to fit a different (more typical hierarchical) corporate model.

It isn't as bad as you think, Sam. They're very slow moving and incredibly easy to catch!

Laying claim to the dead carcass is the real trick.

    Ah, yes, the PICNIC error.

Usually use the PEBKAC but have thrown in some layer 8 interface faults if someones a bit savvy with tech speak.
Todays been no better, considering im meant to be second line today so far ive called someone up with a scanner problem, turns out it was off and had to strip down a printer after the feed roller on the duplex module stopped working. I wonder if first line and the printer support company are in the same pub? Next up, Oracle! yay!

Waiting on a PET and NM Whole body PET/CT FDG results for four weeks now. NHS Lothian at it's finest.

I don't tend to dress it up in flowery language any more.

Been awake for 21 hours straight now in pain from a hip that's planned to be replaced. Got codeine, it does nothing, got a script for a new ultralight chair, will have to afford the copay.

My left leg is now essentially useless for anything more than a few feet. I have all my pretty new skirts and can't stand up to show them off.

Least I finally have a PC up and going so I can play Skyrim and Goat Simulator.

Well, turns out this could be caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Bugger.
