I am looking to build a custom case, but one thing i need is the end connectors to the Jumper Pins (power button, hdd indicator, reset switch) Due to i dont have an old pc i dont have any of these connectors lying around. I have had a look at places like maplin, but i dont know how they are (technically) described Any help is appreciated
Maplin refer to them as Socket Housing (HB59P is a 2w) RS refer to them as 2w Single Row Housing (360-5967 is 2w) The RS type are along the lines of traditional connectors. With both you need to buy the crimp terminals. Maplin sell them singly but RS only sell them in 100s Meblin
That Maplin one is a bit bulkier than the usual fittings, you may not be able to pack three or four onto the mobo header. Another possibility is the Rapid Electronics led holder.
If you are stateside, you can get them at http://www.futurlec.com/index.shtml I just got my order for a few of 'em to use for an LCD.
Thanks guys for the response I was ordering stuff from maplin anyway, so i ordered some of theirs. They are quite on the chunky side, pretty good for LED holders though. Will be getting some from RS
Has anyone got the code for the crimp terminals for RS, i can find them easily @ Maplin but have dificulty finding them @ RS Thanks
why bother buy 0.1" connectors in a strip - they can be soldered directly to wires and heatshrunk on. I have been known to supply them very cheaply to fellow modders
