I'm after some of the metal that looks like: \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// \\\ /// the patern isn't quite like that but its abit like it. where can i get it from and whats it called? Thinking of making a case for a mini itx board out of it
I don't know where "whitney" is, so it's hard to suggest a store, but if I'm judging your ascii art right, the stuff you want is called diamond plate.
If it's solid, you mean "diamont plate" and you can get it in every good store. If there are holes in it, you mean mesh and that's to be found in good stores to. (it's made of alumium) ~Xeno~
It's usually made out of stainless steel. Any industrial supply or metal supply company should stock it. I don't know what to suggest as a UK source though.
its not mesh its the stuff with raised lines /// in sets of 3, i think its the diamond stuff. Witney is in Oxfordshire UK
You definately won't be able to buy it in Witney a trip to Banbury or Swindon might be in order. Think about who might use it locally, you never know you might be able to get an offcut big enough to use for next to nothing.
I don't mind a trip to swindon, go there quite often. I just trying to think where somewhere might use it as I wouldn't need much at all. Might just rip some off the stairs at work
I think, technically, you are looking for barley plate. Charlie cat has used this stuff in two of his really nice projects: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34737 http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=42637&highlight=charlie+cat It's similar to diamond plate with just a different pattern.
either really, that barely plate stuff if aluminum i'll try and get that as it'll be light! thanks for all your help everyone!
