i just bought an xfx one which was exactly the same as the others but you got avp thrown in for only a couple of quid extra
I have found Sapphire cards to be a good choice. They are often a little cheaper than the competition and they have a good RMA service for damaged cards, plus a decent support forum.
well i wanted a vapor x but it is out of stock at scan so i'm looking for a good card which comes with a d-sub adapter
Sapphire cards usually come with a d-sub adapter as standard. At least my last two cards from them have. And scan has the regular 5770 in stock.
The Asus 512MB or 1GB CuCore cooler ones overclock well , and run very cool. They are, however, a dual slot cooler. Mine is currently at 910/1280. Oh, and DVI-HDMI in box, no DVI-DSUB, but they're only 2 quid for an adapter.
Sounds like you've decided then If ya still not sure however, see if anyones reviewed that particular version.
How can you not have any d-sub adapters? I'm sure I've gotten atleast 2 with every graphics card I've bought. I've probably got about 6 of the damn things.
because my current card (4670) has a d-sub on it and thats the only graphics card i've ever bought, plus when i bought my monitor i was being cheap and i had pcworld vouchers so i had to get something from there.
the xfx one does come with a dsub adapter yes. and is truly a brilliant card. am currently playing avp (which i got free with it) and have everything on its highest settings and never experience slow downs (although i only have a 19inch monitor with like a 900x800 resolution)
Why on earth would you use 900x800? The standard resolution on 17" and 19" monitors is 1280x1024. I play everything in that resolution, on max settings, with my older 4770.
sorry was on laptop so couldnt quite remember specs, but the monitor is a 19inch widescreen with a 1440x900 resolution - relatively oldish hp jobby.
The dual slot Sapphire 5770 is selling for £130 on Amazon.co.uk and it comes with Dirt 2. The Vapor-X one would be my choice for its good cooling and low noise.
