I'm building my first PC, i had basically decided upon the MSI Twinfrozr III GTX 570 for my graphics card, but no where seems to actually have one, and since i'm trying to get this all done this week i wasn't sure which other to go for. Here's the rest of my PC, which is all ordered... CPU - Intel i5 2500K OEM CPU Cooler - Gelid Tranquilo Mobo - MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) PSU - BeQuiet 530 Watt HDD - Samsung 1tb Spinpoint F3 RAM - Corsair DDR3 4GB XMS3 Classic Case - Coolermaster Elite 430 Case Fans - 120mm BitFenix Spectre Black Fan Blue LED x2 OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit I'd like it to stay around the £250 mark at most. Here's the list on scan (where i'd like to buy from, but not a must); http://www.scan.co.uk/search.aspx?q=gtx+570 If anyone has one of these cards and would like to recommend, then that's good enough for me.
Gonna struggle with that budget on Scan at the moment. They're all out of stock Cheapest one that isn't Palit is this one. Maybe this one on Overclockers?
EVGA GTX 570, about £268.00 but its amazing! I would of course say that as I have only ever used the EVGA model, nice and cool and runs really well.
Palit is no good than i take it? The EVGA one isn't in stock either. I've seen the one on novatech, it says they're getting them in on the 18th Aug, so i guess i could get it from there and pay the extra £5 for next-day delivery. Either that, or is there a different card that performs as well for a similar price? Of course my only other option is to wait, but i don;t want to have the rest of my new rig just sitting there, waiting for a few weeks.
These are all reference cards, but the prices are pretty epic. clicky Gotta be worth considering these and buying an after-market cooler. Link provided by Scott_Chegg in the Marketplace today.
Recently Palit (also Gainward) have been cutting too many corners with the design of their cards so avoid! In my opinion the MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition is worth waiting for.
How does this one compare to the MSI one? Basically, if it can play new games on high-max settings on a HD monitor with a half decent frame rate then it's fine by me. Also, what's a reference card?
It's tempting. Any news on when exactly these will be available? Apparently Novatech can be ambitious with their stock dates to say the least according to the IT guy at work.
Reference designs do not differ from the original (in this case) nVidia design. Same PCB layout, components and cooler.
The card linked on overclockers are 'Refurbished' reference units which is why they are priced accordingly. For an extra £50 you can get a brand new freshly packed GTX 570 with a more refined design. It's worth going for the MSI Power Edition.
Yeah, you're right. I'm going to either end up paying more or with a less powerful card or both for the sake of waiting another week. I think i'm just going to accept another week's wait and stick with the MSI.
