    LINK FOR COMPARISON

Yeah, I know that one is a 3.06ghz processor, but it seemed like it fits close enough to what I want. I'm planning on getting a pair of these, so any insight would be nice. I'm also planning on the IWILL RH800 mobo, which can support the 800 mhz fsb and hyperthreading. So, if there's any bad news about any of these processors, I'd love to know what it is.

the 3.06 is a 533MHz fsb, wheras the 3GHz ones are 800MHz fsb
but i have no idea about the difference between the other 3

id personally recommend getting a couple of opterons instead though

Well, I don't want an opteron system. But, thanks for the tip on the 3.06.

hyperthreading is definitely a preferable option to have over the extra 60 mhz :D As for the lack of Opteron, all I can say is that youre castrating yourself. :blah:

Well, I've read reviews and comparisons between the two, and since the Opterons are great rendering Maya, but aren't as good as the Xeons in rendering in 3D Studio Max, which is what I'll be using. Anytime saved, will be nice. :D

Well, I suppose that makes sense. Evidently, the 2.4 Ghz Opterons (250) are more expensive than the Xeons. I guess Intel is the way to go in this case, unless you are going for a lower grade of Opteron/Xeon processor; in which case, more research is in order.

EDIT: Definitely look at the comparatively designed Opterons. There is more to be seen than Nocona 3.4 vs Opteron 250, and the 246 falls into the same price point as the Nocona 3.0Ghz.

Further research indicates my original statement stands; Xeon is superior in 3Ds Max. Enjoy your Intel products :D

Well, thanks a ton for doing the research. That means I wasn't making an imaginary system for it to be replaced by something better. Thanks, again. :D
