So I have been asked in school to make a power point presentation on monitor up to $400 and presented in class. On behalf of which monitor should I speak? Very simple question to you guys. Thank you all!

Dell 2412m falls in at $399.99 on their website (Discounts available for those willing to try their hand at haggling).
    Talking point suggestions:

16:10 ratio (better than 16:9? When and why?)
IPS (is it needed, does it affect your usage?)
Matte vs Glossy finish (preferences and why)
Decent compromise on specs for price?
Image quality vs TN or PVA panels.
Quality of warranty included in price - does this affect peoples decision when buying?
Is the response time adequate for those that want to game as well as those that need to use it for colour orientated programs (I.E. Photoshop, etc)

This is a newly released monitor so plenty of people are having a say about it on Hardforum right now.
I would have a look there for some more inspiration if you need it too.

    Good Luck

Dell U2410 or HP ZR24W. They're fantastic 16:10 monitors. Wish I could do that.

I'd say the Lp2475W as well, but that doesn't seem to exist.

The ZR24W is not a bad monitor by any means though.

No it's not, I think it's the exact same panel just different manufactures/logos. I guess I have a bias toward the U2410

The Dell U2410 is the best monitor in that price range

The Dell is a fantastic monitor there's no denying that, but I'm quite sure the ZR24W can be had for slightly cheaper.

Then again, whatever really. The Dell by far is the only H-IPS panel I'd buy outside of the NECs.
