Soo... Real RAID cards -- I've always had 3Ware/LSI ones (3ware 9650SE ones in general). However, I'm wondering what everyone thinks of the other main manufactures cards? (Adaptec, Areca) I'm thinking of getting a LSI MegaRAID SAS/SATA 9265-8i but don't want to blow that kind of cash if there are better cards out there. Will be used for high Read/Write IO on a file server. so needs to be great at random and sequential IO. There will be 2 SSDs in RAID0 for those that need the speed (holding databases that aren't essential but need to be fast when they're being used -- (they will be backed up so please, no flaming regarding RAID0 etc) as well as 6 drives in RAID6 (3TB WD) for actual speed.
