You've really not listed much information about what you want to use it for or even a screen size as such I'd suggest that you start by reading here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=218867 This should provide you with a good amount of knowledge to base a decision on. As a stab in the dark I recently(ish) purchased one of these and I'm very happy with it: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-benq-gw2760hs-led-monitor-slim-bezel-hdmi-dvi-vga-1920x1080-300cd-m2-20m1-4ms-speakers I do get a small triangle of white backlight bleed in the top right corner of the screen coming about half an inch in, but this is only noticeable when the entire screen is jet black like at the end of a film between the final scene and the credits rolling up. This is going to be common on all IPS panels for this budget.
Dell U2412M. Proper 16:10 1920x1080. IPS. Well built.. and I can attest to it's quality. Used them loads of times before, and I bought one for my wife. Calibrates beautifully if colour is important. Great contrast. Just a superb monitor. They're around £210 now last time I checked.
