    I still play duck hunt :D .

Honestly I don't really remember. Doom or Wolf. From there I skipped Quake and Quake 2 and went to Tribes.

Wolf, Doom, Heretic, Hexen, HL, ROTT, CS, ......name it. Im a FPS junky. Rainbow is too slow for me.

Favorite all-time teamplay FPS online: Tribes1: Renegades equipment.

Nothing ever came close. The game died with its succesor taking all the servers away.

But about reminiscing. I remember Doom and Heretic back in the good-ole DX66 days. My friends and I were upgrading our PCs to one-up each other and we used the load screen of Heretic (made a crunch sound for each little bar segment while the game loaded, took 60 seconds for a 40MHz 486 PC). I got one of the newest DX100s when they first came out and the load screen sounded like pop-corn popping. Man, back then an upgrade to the next step actually MEANT something...........

Anyone remember CATACOMB ABYSS for the 386? That was a FPS that got overlooked by wolfy. You were a mage and you only had fireballs as a weapon, but specials like 'fire in a circle' and 'rapid fire'. That was actually a really cool game with great level design (no story) but brilliant atmosphere and dead simple. You start off at the top of a dungeon and go down and down.....until you get like 50 demons trying to eat you. I ended up getting my mate to bash the health potion button (as you got killed real fast) while i bashed the rapid fire and run keys. I remember it as an epic battle, but if I did it now it would probably not be the same.

First online FPS was duke nukem3d; a quality game even though i got Pwned ALL the time! Think I probably won 1 out of 40 games.

    NOSTALGIA MODE OVER

Who's for CS? Wolfy was *****!

    3D monster maze! :D

And then all of the others mentioned here. Did anyone else play the Wolfy follow up, Spear of Destiny?

    Wolfenstein :D

Although the first fps I really spent ages on was probably halflife as I was mostly into flying games before that.

I can't believe there are so many people who started off with Wolfenstein or Duke or Doom or one of those old-school games that's pretty amazing, at least I feel young now :D

First game: Space Invaders when I was 3. (I've already started my nephew on the ol' Invaders at only 10 weeks old - not that he looks at the screen much he just shakes the joypad around :hehe: )

Doom on my mates PC's as a kid, Duke Nukem 3d or quake on my first P166 (now my firewall!!)

Random duck hunt fact.... If you point the light gun at a bright light source (i.e a light bulb) and fire you hit every duck!!

I started out with TimeSplitters on the PS2

Another thing about Duck Hunt that I never knew until like a year ago, is that it's a 2 player game. The 2nd controller controls the duck.

Was I the only who shot the dog when he laughed?

Hm it was either Rise of Triad (something like that), Black Stone or Doom 3d. My very first "game" was Hugo.
