    I am an idiot.

My family kept bugging me about this super cheap dell because its too slow. It had the minimum ram to run windows. I decide to open the computer and check out what kind of ram it's using. As far as I can tell, it's off. I can't feel/hear any fans working, and the monitor is off. There's a light on the inside that's on if power is connected, so I disregarded that. I couldn't see the one side of the RAM, because of clutter, so I pull it out. I examine it, and put it back. It was then I realized that the computer was still on, in sleep mode... The ram's dead now, and more is on the way. Hopefully nothing else was damaged, but I'll have to wait to check that out.

This is the reason i will not work with a computer, inside, without taking power out!

See, my PC is under a desk (my desk to be exact), and if I want to work on its guts, I have to pull al the wires out, especially power because the thing's so darn short. Makes a useful safety measure.

It's funny, because I made mental note to unplug the computer, but got distracted right before I decided to get to work on it.

A new stick of ram came today, and I installed it. The computer's running better than before, and to my relief, nothing else was damaged.
