    Pff, what an idiot.

    I propose:

    10 months in a year
    10 hours per day
    100 minutes per hour
    100 seconds per minute

and a global clock, none of these stupid timezones. :cooldude:

Doesn't mean that everyone has to be awake and working at the same time. Just means that time zones become a thing of the past.

Unfortinately as has been said many times in this thread: people hate change. For one I think our current system works just fine. The system that dude is proposing would work, and prolly be better, but it would be an expencive and costly change.

In the end, it all comes down to money. Calandar companys would suffer due to the calandar being the same, so Hallmark ain't gonna let it happen :D

As for birthdays falling outside of the new calandar, that's just plain weird. Sorry, but it is. Every birthday being on a Tuesday, that's just plain weird. Having a week off every 5-6 years instead of a leap-day is a nice idea, but I'm not buying into it...

/me's cousin was born on Feb 29th, causes major problems with many computer systems, such as those at the DMV :D

the idea of a new calender is a great idea... the idea for a new time system is less so. how hard is t to get to sleep during the light ? very very hard! the entire americas and asia and oceania would be "jet lagged" for ages trying to get into the swing!

You understand it do you? You'd still get up in the "morning" as usual, but you'd be getting up at, say, "hour 10" rather than 7am. Other people would get up at "hour 3" or whatever. Not all at the same time, because the world could NOT function with everyone asleep at the same hours.

I propose a 30 hour day, 24 is just way too little.

Apart from that, I don't really have any issues with the current calender, his idea about having the same dates for things has its good & bad points, but I think there are more bad than good ones.

EDIT: oh and I'd LOVE to scrap 'British Summer Time', I hate it when the clocks go forward by an hour

I like to scrap Monday so instead add 3.423 hours to the other 6 days in the week. :D

Hey while he is at it why don’t we change the names of the seasons!? How about the hot season the mild season and the cold season? After all it seems like spring, summer, fall, and winter are just out dated.
This guy just want to change the world to make it easier on himself, I would personally loathe it if my B-day fell on Thursday every year because I would have to always work that day. :miffed:

The whole world being on one clock thing is kind of a joke because it wouldn't work for the every day man. Every one can't work at the same time, while you would go to work in the day if I went to work at the same time it would be the middle of the night. It would end up falling into a case where we would have to section off the globe again so I could go to work at dawn in my area and the person in the next area could go to work when its dawn in his area.

Our bodies are made to want to sleep when it is dark out and be awake when it is light out so either way there has to be some kind of sectioning off of the globe so why not leave it the way it is. :eyebrow:

You think it will make things easier when all it will do it make you have to memorize a system that just as complicated as the one that’s already in place. not to mention what we would have to go through to change everyting to work with the system. And I don't know where you work but I wouldn't get "Newton week" off paid I would just be forced to either work or take a week off with no pay and anyone that thinks every employer would give all their employees a week off with pay is a fool or hasn't worked in the real world. :p

If it isn’t broke don’t try and fix it. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

That won't work, we have 60 secs in a min and 60 mins in an hour and 24 hours in a day to coicide with the rotation of the earth, thats why we get day and night at certain times, In a day there are 86400 seconds, in the day you're proposing, there are 100,000 seconds, so after a few weeks, nighttime will start around lunchtime!!!

Talking through this, we can see now that this change in the calender will be waaaayyy too much hassle! As for the time change, Britain and Portugal will be the only countries not affected by it!

    Define second ;)

If we were to change time to suit our wishes, why not go ahead and change what a second is?

Just saying it doesn't work! :p

But if I had my way, I'd change the week into weekend, and the weekend into a week!

Except for the fact that since you would have so much free time, you would more than likely end up spending more...

Bah, I think I'll just patent something like the wheel and live off the returns for a weekend that lasts a lifetime (hey, if AOL can patent the telephone, I can patent the wheel :D ).
