Storage WIll USB3 powered ext HDD work on USB2 OK?

    As above. I'm wondering if a USB3 powered external Hard drive will be able to function properly if it's plugged into a USB2 port? (can it draw enough power?)

    As long as it's a normal 2.5 inch drive plugged into a normal USB port it should do. Mine certainly does.

    Depends on the drive, if USB 2 isn't enough to power the drive should come with either a Y-type cable [so it draws 2 USB ports worth of power] or a power brick so it can be used with older PCs without USB3

    They just tend to say Bus powered, so I assume no power brick.
