Windows Windows 7 on Raptors

Hello,

I can't seem to get Windows 7 to install on my Raptors. First off I tried in a RAID partition and that didn't work, next I tried it on the individual drives as IDE and I get the same problem.

Install will get to the finalizing settings stage after reboot, then hang and bsod with a isator.sys error. I've tried the install on another drive (non raid) and it worked fine, I've also made a copy of the ISO, so it seems to be purely related to the disks, which incidentally I can still install XP onto using a RAID or IDE setup. I've also checked the disks using Lifeguard tools and the diagnostics all seem fine.

Im just wondering if anyone has successfully installed Windows 7 on a Raptor (150 gig) before I try looking elsewhere.

* Edit - Forgot to mention I'm using the 64bit version

Yup - 64bit works fine here with two 150GB Raptors in RAID 0 on an ICH10R southbridge.

 

Cheers Bindi, is that just using the default windows 7 drivers?

Make sure ur getting recognised in the bios.

win 7 64 bit

 

No problems here either with win 7 32bit or 64bit.

 

Yup. Setup the RAID 0 array in the Intel BIOS, then reboot, load Win 7 and it sees it as unpartitioned space.
