Hey hey !!
I'm a Windows 7 Party Host !!
Congratulations, you've just sold your soul for a free Windows licence
which of the "themes" did you go with?
Hey -a free licence is a free licence - beats ripping it from some torrent site
agreed, wish they will pick me. . .
...or (and I'm just throwing this preposterous idea out there) you could have bought it for the £45 or so that is was available for on pre-order.
What do you do for this free licence exactly?
It's not the cheap Home Premium edition, this is the limited Signature edition of Windows 7 Ultimate we're getting for hosting the parties, and we'll also be getting them long before the release date! Apparently around the 10th October along with all the other goodies for dishing out.
I'd already preordered my cheapy Home Premium edition, looks like I'll be selling that on now when it arrives!
Just host a party for your friends to show them what they can do with Windows 7. Microsoft are being very specific in that it's supposed to just be a fun event rather than a major hard-sell marketing campaign, but I think the idea is that those of us that have signed up for it are likely to be fairly computer literate and will be able to show others how easy it is to use.
It's a really good idea I think, an excuse toi get your mates around for a few drinks and a laugh and bag yourself an expensive bit of software!
I'm glad I signed up for it!
i really wish id known about that
thats got to be the easiest thing on earth for essentially 150 quid upwards of software.
congrats though, you must be feeling pretty good right now haha
Can't you just party on your own?
I got my confirmation as well, All I'm doing is getting a few family and the girlfriend around to look at something they have already seen, snap a few pics, and get some snax .
Maybe, if you're good with Photoshop.
congratulations.... and can you give me any information about using windows 7 in an old motherboard like Intel GZIS946 or GCNL945 OK then..
I've been running the retail Ultimate edition for the past month, legally. No poncey party required. /brag.
Did you register just to tell us you're hosting a party? because we didn't know already about free shizzle?.
edit: no, but still.
Out of interest, are people actually going to bother hosting 'windows' parties, or is the intention just to get a few mates over for alternate reasons (i.e. to actually enjoy yourselves) and take a few staged photos just to please MS?
I'd much rather spend the cash buying a legit copy than admit to anyone I was hosting a 'windows party'!!
Likewise, MSDN Cheesecake! I can't imagine many people bother with Ultimate for a netbook
I am also a host and although I will be having a party it will be just like any other family get together, except i will fire off a few photos of people with balloons and laptops. Its a small price to pay for a free licence.
I just recieved my dispatch email from DHL, my Windows 7 party pack is on its way
