Hi, I've just finished new build few days ago, and installed windows 7 64 bit (wish i stayed with XP), and am having problems with connecting my PC to the TV via HDMI cable. I set it to the only resolution that seemed to work which was 1024x768, but the quality was terrible, there were lines across the screen and slight flickering. So then I tried having a look at settings via the 'nvidia control panel' which was practically useless as anything you select in there seemed to do nothing at all. As i was looking at the different resolution settings both screens went blank, even when taking the cable out it would remain blank, so had to restart. Now when you put the cable in the screen will go blank, sometimes it wont as it has not detected the TV, so when you click on 'detect' in display settings it will go blank again, and only way to return to normal is a restart. I've been looking around internet and see other people with same problem, but as always the responses from microsoft support staff are useless. If someone could please help me, I would very much appreciate it! Thanks!
I dunno what happened, but finally I managed to get to point where when the hdmi cable is plugged in and i click on 'detect' it would not blank my monitor. Then when I selected res of 800x600 tv screen was no longer blank but was extremely poor quality (lines across screen and dots all over the place). I then took out the hdmi cable and put in the older VGA cable I had been using last year for couple months and that worked fine (as it should), I put the hdmi cable back in and put into a different hdmi port on TV and its now working perfectly. In short i've solved the problem now, so please close this thread. Thanks!
