I just downloaded windows defender from the microsoft page. and when i try running the install file it reads a message saying: "this installation package is not supported by this processor type. contact your product vendor."

what gives? what should i do? is there something i should be using instead? any recommendations 4 a different proagramme as an alternative?

So what "processor type" and OS have you got?

Adaware and/or Spybot will cover some Win Defender duties.
