this is going to be a hilarious post i /hate/ the pay-to-play jig myself, ever since everquest came out like 7 years ago? anyways, i laffed in everquests face and hated the game with a passion, and that .hack made the everquest anime series and it was utter CRAP. further down the line, other paytoplay games started to sprout, with the more recent matrix online (what a joke) and WoW. i told everyone who asked about it that it was the stupidest thing, having to buy the game for $80 and then pay $25/month to play it...wtf is that? afaic, thats rape, and theft. i dunno what happened yesterday, but i was walking through a loca lgame store looking at the new stuff and i saw world of warcraft on sale for $70, i laughed like a pirate picked the game up and bought it, knowing that i was making a big mistake. i know, its horrible, but i confess, i bought world of warcraft and played a solid 4 hours of it last night untill it was /way/ past my bedtime, managed to get my character to lvl7 as of now. and i cant wait to get home and play more. takes a bit of getting used to, lots of features, and this is my first rts/rpg/mmo game that i've played, and im liking it so far..fair gameplay, easy to follow, and very friendly environment...because im a total newb at this crap i was talking to a lot of people, even the lvl125+ guys were nice and took the time to explain to me, and in some cases even escort me to where i had to go, i know in some cases thats the point, but not a 125 to 7. lol i must say, im quite the hipocrit on this one, but i gave in and took the plunge. its one of those things i think you just have to bite your lip and try. if your interested in buying the game, i recommend it, and for thsoe who havnt played it and diss it like i did, i know where your coming from, and i gave in, and although i think $25/month is still /extremely/ steep, i like the game a lot.
