Modding WORLDS FIRST (I think) CF MOD with NEW WINDOW & LIGHT PICS...

Ok, So I made a joke in my first POSTED mod thread.. about modding a Compact flash card...

well, it may just be the smallest "hard"drive mod ever... If I had plexi thin enough, I'd put a window in it too... but as it is, a light will just have to do...

Edit: Ok, So I added the Window Mod, Check the pics, and let me know what's next... If my Phat fingers can do this, I'm up for a challenge... maybe.

Yup... It took pictures and everything... plus it lights up

How???? You might just have to ask nicely to find out more... I've documented the whole thing, and if you are REALLLY nice... I might post it.

I have added the plexi... Actually more like thick plastic protective sheet that came with my mobo... The stainless that's on it is .2mil thick... but it's now getting too late even for me... it's 4:30am here. I gotta catch some zzzzzzzzzs... I ran out of caffeine at 2:00

Thats pretty cool but I dont think it would work to well on my Memory Sticks. Those things are just tiny. Oh well, maybe I will paint one, hmm...

 

Pretty damn cool.. Wonder if I could do that to a MMC?

In my mp3 player the MMC's go in the side and a nice BLOO LED or something on the side would look quite cool

 

does the CF card still work? I know in my canon, that card wouldn't fit in the camera with the led in it

 

It is a 16mb card, and yes it still works... and YES it fits in my Canon... I have a Powershot G2, Which I am thinking about putting a fiber optic-mod on the CF cover, so you can see the light... I took 12 pics with the card in the camera, and every one was fine... didn't hurt it a bit.

I was affraid at first that I might end up posting this in the Disaster Mods... but it DOES work. nicely.

 

How'd you take a picture of the memory card when it's in the reader, and not in your camera? :dude:

 

When you have the camera hooked up through USB to the PC, you can take pictures directly to the hard drive...

Plus I had my 128MB card in the thing... I have 3 cf cards... I figured the smallest one would do for the mod though...

I sort of 'modded' an unreliable Memory Stick, I broke it out the casing and stuck the circuit board to my monitor.

It was only a 4mb and i had 6 of them... I also had 2 8mb's 1 16mb and a128mb.... no one notices when they used to dissapear from the display boxes..... I miss my conmet job... free DVD rental

Well it certainly does look cool. I would have to say that is one of the more daring mods i have seen
