I am looking to get a PCIe x16 right angle riser for my project.
Here are 2 I am looking at:
    http://www.8anet.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=6034&step=4
    http://www.circotech.com/2u-1-x-16x-pci-express-riser-card.html

I am looking for something pretty tall so, if I use something with a large heatsink and fan on it, there will be clearence.
The prices do not seem that bad, but I figured I'd check and see if anyone knows of a beter/cheaper US supplier, or have a better riser for about the same amount of money.

Look for flexible PCIe x16 risers on ebay. I bought mine from germany for about 30 euros, but i remember finding them cheaper in the USA.

The flexible ones allow you to do mucg more whacky stuff then just place the card at an angle, you can basically put the card anywhere you like!

    Example:

would you loose any preformace using a PCIe (2.0 x16) card / slot.

always imagined these risers had a minor effect, please tell me in wrong
as i would quite like to use one for my build.

They do have the slightest effect, but you are unlikely to notice a difference.

As for finding them, they can be quite difficult to get a hold of sometimes as no that many people sell them I have found. The ones you have linked are about the right price for them, altough you can get a flexible one for $40 here or 17 quid here.
