I've been trying to sort this for a while, to no avail. A few months ago, I was watching films through this drive, all was working fine. A few months without using it, my PC (XP) now recognizes it as a CD only drive. I've done all the suggestions found on the net; clearing upper and lower filters, uninstalling and scanning new hardware in device manager, clearing registry entries, uninstalling and reinstalling software etc. Nero InfoTool sees the drive, though I can't stop XP installing the drivers automatically when I connect it. When I check the driver properties, XP is using standard Windows CD drivers and not the Toshiba one I installed. Any ideas for more solutions to try? Before, I installed the drivers, rebooted, ignored the Add Hardware window and XP installed everything itself.
