Windows xbox 360 - on play already with price...

found play.com already have the xbox 360 and a price up!

Are they just being careful here cos they don't actually know how much it will be, so they have marked it up?

Either way, anyone who orders now has got to be a little bit stupid.

 

Well I've mailed them regarding this. I will post their answer as soon as I get it. (And of course the original letter)

 

I reckon they're saying that so they can 'wow - reduced price!' etc. when they actually know how much it'll cost.

 

Jesus friggin hell! That's like $730USD!!! Screw that... There's no way that I'll be buying one anytime soon.

 

except if its released here at £400 its likely to be $500ish

 

Much of the titles will be on PC, but this is where I play the waiting game on the new console..

 

Well, since AMD and INTEL are putting stupid protection into their cpu's, console will probably be the only way to have real fun

(BTW, I found a swedish shop where you could book it, but not pay it until the price was set.. that's kinda sweet )

 

Play have just put a random value into their database. It needs a price to be on the site to allow people to order it. Or something like that. They do it with all consoles, before the DS came out some sites had it down as £150.

 

There's no way they can expect to sell that if it's that expensive. $300 is a more realistic price. It's really cheap for the specs it's got, but expensive for a console.

 

It also says framecity killer £39.99 instead of £49.99 whic ic an see being true and just thinkin that two games would cost £100 seems absolute madness.

Heard on the radio that its going to be $299.99 USD for us. MS must be eating the cost again.

 

MS made a press release stating it would be $299.99 and last time they said that for the Xbox, it came out at £299.99 here too.

 

Dear god people, they probably need to put a price in due to their booking/ordering system.
They don't know the actual price ATM, so they have used an artificially high one until the correct price is known, if they were to use a lower price and thousands ordered then the true price came out a lot higher they would loose money, just be patient and wait until November.

 

£299 or £400. I'll still be buying one. I just wish GAME or someone would start taking pre-orders so I can look forward to Christmas!

 

I'll be pre-ordering all three new consoles as soon as i can .

same gettin the 360 on launch night, atmosphere will be great (btw death my psp is in east midlands now, well by now its on its way from there to newcastle airport whic is about 20 mins awa from me which meas if all goes t plan i get mine today )

or.... they priced it high so people can pre order and get them early/first. as play are good at sending things early.
