needs correcting ^_^
Oooo Dual DVI on AGP. Im happy.
fantastic card, i use the same shuttle myself. Well did
Also, the newer version of this card (with the big shiny cooler) apparently runs quieter and cooler...
it's no quieter, just shiney... mines the "latest rev."
I also liked the big X shaped box
Just had another look at the XFX site and the place where I first heard about the new cooler and yeah, no mention of it been quieter (so don't know where I got that from). But XFX claim a 10-20 degree improvement in temps (see here) though reviews of the new cooler are mixed...
Well that looks like an absurd performance improvement; is that "reccomended" being over standard 6600 GTs on AGP, or what?
you can get some stupidly good overclocks on this card too. Using the standard fansink.
I bought this card about 2 months ago and I would have to say it's well worth the price (which wasn't too bad in my opinion). My 3Dmark03 score jumped from 212 to 11280, and my system sucks except for this card. I also have the card with the shiny heatsink/fan.
was about to purchase two of these cards for an sli system but then saw this review and it said they couldnt run sli...bummer. i just may buy a single card for my current system.
You will need PCI-Express to run in SLI, along with an SLI-capable motherboard.
yeah i know, i have the asus sli mobo right next to me. but i didnt realize it was agp cuz i didnt read all the specs, i just jumped on itcuz i saw it had dual dvi. on the other hand i just purchased one of these for my current system. should have it here by friday!
-added a Zalman VF700-CU to my order to cool it well and get a nice OC.
gotta love how they couldnt be bothered to redesign heatsink
They have actually....
