whats all this about then? whats it downloading? (icon in taskbar on far right) afaik it isnt a Windows Update
It IS Windows Update .. You must have been asked if it might download in the background and you must have clicked/checked YES so it does what you allowed it to do. Don't worry about it.
I think you'll find ........ Control Panel --> System --> auto update , "no thanks" .......useful then
It's a bit of a pain that it's switched to download quietly by default. It just kinds of saps your bandwidth. Surely the decent thing to have done is to leave it at manual to start with, but pop up a little wizard thing that says "I can do this for you in the background automatically. Do you want me to you?"
Yeah I know it kinda sucks. That's why I told it to ask me , I want to know what updates there are anyways.
