    Hello people,

Thinking of upgrading my cpu from a xp2100 palamino to a xp2400 (cheap atm) this is the max my mobo will take. Is there anyone who has done this and did make it a noticeable difference!

    Thanks for feedback

I went from 1800+ to 2000+ and it aint worth it, but I only done it as I wanted to use the 1800+ in another board.

i went from Palomino 1900 to T'bred 2000 and it was definately worth it - if only for the CPU temps to be a little more comforting...

    I'd say it's REALLY worth getting a 2400+ now... :)

Get a barton if you can afford it, and your mobo will support it... else, a 2400 is a good deal, but the difference in speed won't be great, temps as has been said should be a little lower, especially in this hot weather.

Totally NOT worth in. The improvement you would see would be tiny at best. Theres nothing really your 2000 cant handle, its got a lot of life left in in. I'd say hold out for a while until the next generation of CPU's/Motherboards hit the market.

I agree with olv .My comp died (a xp 2000 and nforce1 mobo) so with insurance money I got a 2600xp oced to 2800xp and a nnforce 2 mobo and tbh i dont see that much of an improvement. perhaps down the line it can hand newer things but at the moment i think your 2000 will be ok.
