Some generic CGA 4-Colour thing (mmm.. Cyan) so I sprang the extra cash for a colour monitor.. (In my day, a colour monitor was an extravagance)

2MB Diamond Stealth (the s3 vision 964 one) VRAM
    4MB Diamond Monster 3d (voodoo 1)
8MB Diamond FireGL1000Pro PCI (still in use driving my secondary monitor)

My first system was at work and the monitor was green ( as clever as it got)- graphics ???? I used to screw the command prompts up and kill everything.

My first 3d was a STD voodo 2 pci with 12 mb with a 4 mb sis card.

    I have a Gforse 2 GTS now.

Can you say nooobie? I knew ya could.
Oh how happy I was to see that Elvira Easter basket background go from 16 colors all the way up to 256!! :)

i don't know what we had in my dads BBC/286/386/486 but the first 3D card we got was an orchid righteous 3dfx card - 90% of games would reset the PC when going to 3D, but wow, i was amazed to see a game running smoothly in 640x480... i think we had a faulty one...

HMMmm- - first graphics card huh--- don't think I even had one ona vic 20! used a old b&w tv and a rf modulator till I got rich and bought a AMIGA. Now Have A elsa erazorx2 32ddr p3 1gig and a MSI gf2 gtspro46ddr on the amd 1900xp:p . personally the Elsa is better even if smaller in ram. Everything about it performs better.

the first one that I bought my self was a Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (still have it, just not in this machine) for $210.

The first one in my first computer (Gateway2000) was a VESA (i think thats what it was called) video card. It had like i guess 1 or 2 mb of ram. The video card was about to die on it the about the last year I had it.

My first PC was a fujitsu with an ATi Rage 4mb card in it, and I bought a voodoo 2 12mb card - the kind you had to loop the signal from your graphics card thru! I bought the voodoo because I saw it running a demo of rogue squadron in pc world ;) It was a pretty reliable card for its day - got me thru half life! After that i had a 32MB TNT2, then a 64MB Kyro2, and hopefully soon I`ll have a Radeon 8500 or GF3 :D

Well here we go, all the GFS Cards I've had in like the last 10 years. The firts ones you'll see listed are the family comps we've had over the years.

Promise EGA Card (128 K RAM) driving a Green Screen on a Tandon XT, soon got Color EGA Phillips monitot
512k Trident Driving an Amstrad Monitor we salavged forma hopspital skip sold the EGA and put all tis into our 286 we had at the time, kept going with that card right uptil our 486 SX 33 2 years later
1 Meg ISA Trident, on 486 SX 33 mentioned above
1 Meg Cirrus Logic PCI which wnet intoa 486 DX4 100
2 Meg Cirrus Logic Laguna in a Cyrix Pr 166 non MMX (who remembers those?)
2 Meg S3 Virge DX, later upgraded to 4 meg cos the Laguna wouldn't run FLight Sim 98, CPU upgraded to 166 MMX and then 2 months later 233 MMX
8 Meg Matrox G100 Productiva (230 MHZ ramdac) in our PII 233
16 Meg Voodoo Banshee AGP in PII 233 then PII 350
    AMD k6/2 500 32 Meg ATI Rage 128
    AMD Athlon TNT 2 M64
AMD Athlon Tbird 900 GeForce 2 MX
AMD Athlon Tbird 1.2 GHz GeForce 2 MX
AND Athlon XP 1500 Abit Siluro T400

Thats all the family comps covered) now for my own
1 Meg Tseng Labs ET 4000 in my IBM PS/1 (the first comp I ever owned)
1 Meg ATI Mach 64 Pro Turbo CT in my P 75
    S3 Virge 4 meg DX Cyrix PR150
4 Meg ATI Rage II C IDT Winchip 225 (god tha CPU was slow)
YAY 4 Meg Voodoo 1 along saide the above card, cost me £45 card still works as far as I know.
The 8 Meg Matrox G100 with the Voodoo 1 and a new Mother board and chip, AMD k6/2 350
Voodoo 3 2000 AGP, bought Voodoo II that was Dead so was sent the V3 instead ran well in PII 350
GeForce 2 MX in Athkon 550
Above card in my Tbird 900 now slod
Currently running 64 Meg Geforce 2M 400 with DDR ram and TV out.

Thats all of them covered!! Ahh happy memories :)
