Diskreet your system is very much like mine.

Thatchem approved Cobra CAT 2-1 Alarm.
    4 Guage power wiring.

    Pioneer DEH 3100-R.
Stock Megane front components (I think Blaupunkt).
    Kicker Impulse IX702 subwoofer amplifier.
Infinity Perfect 10 subwoofer in custom 0.8 cf sealed enclosure.

It is not tuned at the moment as I am waiting for the 16 pin Pioneer to ISO cable/connector.

I am also going to install a high pass filter (my own design) this weekend using a set of capacitors to limit the front speakers to mid bass duties only.

I hope to pick up a good front stage amplifier soon and get some better front speakers.

I am going to the UK T9 TalkAudio meet this weekend in Oxford so I will take some pics of the install while I am there.

My sister is soo funny, She drives a white P reg nissan micra (yea a little old lady car) :D

Anyway, for christmas I got her a kenwood cd head unit, and a pair of sony explode 6*9 speakers for the rear shelf.

She has now added a 15" Sub in the boot.

It sounds good, but its funny that the good music is coming from the granny mobile  also, the car is going to fall apart I think, because when turned up very loud, the bass makes the wing mirrors, back seat, and rear window all shake about. The window pops in and out with the music.

    :hehe:

3 would be very nice, as they are 4 ohm I could wire them in parrallel to 1.33 ohms, just right for a powerfull monoblock amp.

I am mabye thinking of trying a vented enclosure of my own design, it might be worth a try for fun and gain a bit of extra efficency.

hehe Sam they should pay you for your product recomendations.....

I have designed a few vented alignements and I am investigating getting one built.

I am defintely going to T10 so If you want a nice long test of my car system feel free.

I might be upgrading to dual kappa perfect 12.1's in a bandpass. then again i dont know yet. i just dropped over $150 into making my interior nicer; carbon fiber dash trim, blue EL gauge face, and a brushed aluminum surround for the gauges. so maybe if i get $250 i will do it, then again, probably not.

Edit: once the summer rolls around and i get my DVD player in my car, i might decide that another sub is more important than a new gfx card

If you do ever get duel Perfects stay away from Bandpass alignements it is the worse enclosure they can be put in.

Im giving one 460 watts RMS and its rated for 350 max. If i get 2 ill probably only be giving each one only 230 watts RMS thus the bandpass for even more boom. im not a clarity whore as all clarity is lost between my trunk rattling and the seat back. even in a bandpass, though, they will hit really clearly.

If you want more output go for ported rather than bandpass you will get the extra output but not murder the SQ and the frequnecy response.

You see Bandpass enclosures do not play very wide range of freqencies, they tend perform best in there "limited passband" and roll of very sharply above and below.

Bandpass are often a very sensitive alignement to build, they are not forgiving to enclosure size drift at all.

You might also want to look into sound deadening you car with Dynamat or some other mass loading product, the louder the system the more the rattles there are.

I love my infinity sub. i was however disappointed in how loud my one perfect 12.1 is compared to what people were saying about them...
so now im getting another one and putting them in a bandpass.
all around though, it is by far the best affordable sub out.

If i can get one thing across to everyone about infinity kappa perfects it is this. They can handle 200 watts RMS more than they say, but anything above what they recommend will give you terrible rattling. So when i get my new sub im selling my amp (460 watts to one sub) and buying a new one; 250-350 watts RMS to each.

I have known plenty of people run solid 500 WRMS and never had any problems.

I even saw people last weekend at the T9 meet pouring loud of of power into them with no rattling at all.

If you are hearing rattling that is not right, is you enclosure competely sealed?

If it even has the slighest air leak it will no longer protect the driver.

Also you may want to check your Tinsel leads, I have seen these on many drivers can touch/slap the cone as it is excurting.
